The Aries Grille Guard part # AA1044 for your 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee will not allow for you to retain the factory tow hooks. The grille guard will attach to the same spots on the frame rail that the tow hooks use. The tow hooks will need to be removed but the bolts holding the tow hooks to the vehicle will be reused.
Unfortunately, none of our bull bars or grille guards will allow for to retain the factory tow hooks. view full answer...
I confirmed with my contact at Westin that you will not need to uninstall your tow hooks on your 2019 Ford F-250 to install the Westin HDX Grille Guard # 57-3900. However, when you install the HDX, you will be limited in the location of available tow hook space. This is because the mounting brackets will take up space on the outer sides of the tow hooks. I went ahead and attached a diagram of the what the mounting bracket will look like when it is installed near your tow hooks. I pointed... view full answer...
The tow hook should be on the driver's side on the frame. The tow hook is secured by two bolts and is bolted on between the bumper and the tire. Check out the picture I made which shows the location of the tow hook and as well as the video I have linked which shows the tow hook being removed from a 2013 Toyota Rav4.
The tow hook is not a load-bearing part of the vehicle and removing it will not compromise the vehicle at all.
All vehicles have some sort of tie down and for the most part... view full answer...
To install Curt Trailer hitch, # 11306, on a 2009 Chevy Aveo5, you will not need to remove the tow hook that is permanently attached to the vehicle. The hitch needs the tow hook as one of the mounting points. You will place a carriage bolt and rectangular spacer through the top of the tow hook loop and secure it with the nut. In the instructions, linked for reference, there is a picture that shows the tow hook detached from the vehicle, but this is just for clarity. The tow hook is not... view full answer...
You will not need to remove the spare tire when installing the Draw-Tite Class III 2 Inch Hitch # 41015 on your 1997 Toyota Land Cruiser. You will need to remove the tow hooks when you install the hitch, but you will reinstall the tow hooks on the vehicle. When you reinstall the tow hooks you will switch the location of the tow hooks. The passenger side tow hook will go on the drivers side and the drivers side tow hook will go on the passenger side.

The reason you need the factory tow hooks on your 2014 Ram 2500 to install the Draw-Tite Front Mount Trailer Hitch Receiver # 65063 is because the manufacturer designed the hitch to install between the tow hook mounting brackets and the tow hooks. view full answer...
The Erickson Bolt-On Tow Hook - Black - 10,000 lbs, item # EM59505, has the same mounting dimensions as the chrome bolt on tow hook, item # EM59503, which I recently measured. The mounting holes are spaced 1-3/8 inches apart on center. I took a photo of the tow hook and added the measurement for you to see.
You will have to measure the spot on your frame that you intend to mount the tow hooks and see if there are existing holes or if there is enough room to drill 1/2 inch holes.

The tow hook cannot be re-installed once the hitch is installed on the 2014 Jeep Patriot, but the good news is the hitch can be used in the same purpose as the tow hook if needed.
The safety chain loops can be used as hooks, or you could get the part # TR63044 and install that in the hitch.
I attached an install video for you to check out as well. view full answer...
To install the CURT Front Mount Receiver, # 31374, the tow hooks will need to be permanently removed. I have included a link to the installation instructions for you to view. Removal of the tow hooks is the first step. Since the hooks will be removed, the bushings you see will also need to be removed so the hitch can be properly installed. view full answer...
I've linked to the installation instructions for the Curt # C31033, which works on 2015 Grand Cherokee models with or without the tow hooks. If the vehicle has tow hooks, they'll need to be removed in order to install the hitch, but that shouldn't present a problem as the hitch has tow hooks integrated into it. view full answer...
I spoke with my contacts at Curt and Draw-Tite regarding the front mounted trailer hitches you referenced, Curt # 31108 and Draw Tite # 65028 which are confirmed fits for your 2005 Chevy 2500HD. They both said that you will be able to retain the tow hooks after installing the trailer hitches.

Per step 1 of the installation instructions, the tow hook installation bolts and tow hooks are removed from the vehicle prior to installation. What the instructions DON'T very clearly state is that these items aren't reinstalled. The hardware included with the hitch is used and the tow hooks are left off.
The hitch has tow loops incorporated into it, so the factory tow hooks aren't necessary any longer. view full answer...
The Aries Bull Bar with Removable Skid Plate # AA35-5006 you referenced does indeed require removal of the factory tow hooks (or single piece tow hook bar) on your 2005 Dodge Ram 1500. It uses the existing tow hook mounting points and factory hardware to attach the bull bar brackets. The same is true for all bull bar options for your truck.
That being said, Aries has a perfect solution for you with the Tow Hooks for Aries 3" and 4" Bull Bars # AA35-5TOW. These heavy duty tow hooks simply... view full answer...
To answer your question about which front mounted hitch option you should order for your 2016 Jeep Grand Cherokee, there is actually only one that fits, the Curt Front Mount Trailer Hitch Receiver # C31033.
That said, your tow hooks do need to be removed in order to install this hitch and your tow hooks do need to be bolted on (as opposed to welded) to install. I have added a link to the installation instructions for you to check out as well. view full answer...
It is possible to retain tow hooks on the truck by using Draw-Tite front hitch # 65062. But the tow hooks apparently varied in design so some may still have to be removed. Draw-Tite does not specify which ones can be retained. I have linked a video showing an example installation of this hitch for you.
The Curt front mount receiver # 31374 was not designed or tested for installation with the tow hooks sandwiched between the frame and the hitch so I cannot recommend that installation on... view full answer...
The tow hook of the 2015 Nissan Leaf would need to get removed to install the Nissan Leaf part # C11396. Since the hitch basically would attach where the hook goes it would then be able to be used as a tow hook in the case of an emergency.
I attached an install video for this hitch for you to check out as well. view full answer...
Removing the tow hooks from your 2007 Jeep Grand Cherokee extends the installation time by 70 minutes. This is because to complete installation, the hooks have to go, otherwise they would get in the way and you could not install the hitch.
The reason it takes so much longer is because you will have to remove the bumper fascia, plastic bumper support, and tow hooks and then reinstall everything but the hooks after you have installed the hitch. After you remove the fascia and plastic bumper... view full answer...
The tow hooks will have to be loosened on your 2009 Dodge Ram 1500 in order to install the Draw-Tite Front Receiver, # 65062. The hitch will then be installed between the frame and tow hooks. The hooks stay on the vehicle. The hitch will also need to mount flat against the attachment points so that rubber bushing, if it gets in the way, will have to be removed also. I have included a link to the installation details for you. view full answer...
You do not want to modify the Curt trailer hitch # 11083 in any way. Doing so not only will void the warranty but it can also compromise the structural integrity of the hitch making it unsafe for use. The tow hook itself is part of the bracket it is attached to, so you cannot remove it either.
In a case where the tow hook may be needed, the hitch itself can be used in its place. The safety chain loops near the hitch receiver can be used as tie down points. Tow hooks on many vehicles are... view full answer...
